Rag Radio 02-16-2010 / Author and 60s Activist Dick Reavis

Published February 16, 2010

-A conversation with Dick Reavis, author, educator, journalist, 60s activist. Reavis teaches journalism at North Carolina State University. His latest book is "Catching Out: The Secret Life of Day Laborers." He was active in SDS in the Sixties, has worked for daily papers and magazines, including the Texas Observer and Texas Monthly, where he was a senior editor. He also wrote for Austin's underground paper, The Rag, and is a regular contributor to The Rag Blog. We discuss his experiences as a day laborer while researching for the new book, as well as his book on the assault on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco. We also talk about Sixties activism, underground journalism, and today's political picture.
